Liverpool's Best Real Ale Pubs
The Belvedere is a cracking city centre pub, which may be a bit difficult to spot but is well worth making the effort.
It’s a two room pub with a proper locally feel, often found containing members of the Philharmonic orchestra if they’re playing that day. Ales are predominantly local and often include Liverpool Organic and Brimstage beers.
The landlord – John O’Dowd – is a keen spiriter and in his previous pub (the Lion) he left a legacy of a great whisky pub, but in the Bel he has chosen gin as his spirit of choice. If you are particular of such tipples you won’t be disappointed by the choice or the way in which they are served (though ignore the title of the ‘Ginasium’).
