Liverpool's Best Real Ale Pubs
At the tunnel end of Dale Street lies the Ship & Mitre a famous hostelry particularly for some foreign beers. It has plenty of cask taps so hopefully there should be something there to whet your appetite.
A lovely art-deco style outside – it was untastefully refurbished many years ago with a ‘Ship’ theme (perhaps they should have chosen a Mitre theme?). The first floor bar was refurbished back in to an art deco style several years ago and is worth a look.
There is a nice timber verandah worth popping out on a warm afternoon or evening. Or I dare say on a cold wet day if you really need a fag.
The galley does some fine scran and is recommended to provide good beer soakage.
